GNSS RFI and Spoofing in ASEAN SBAS Deployment

Definition status

This note captures the ASEAN deployment-risk layer for GNSS RFI, jamming, and spoofing. It does not replace generic SBAS integrity definitions.

Working definition

GNSS RFI and spoofing are operational hazards that can degrade or falsify GNSS reception. In an SBAS deployment context, they matter because augmentation cannot create safe service from corrupted or unavailable underlying GNSS measurements.

GIPTA-derived ASEAN relevance

GIPTA material treats RFI/jamming/spoofing as a dedicated workshop topic. Philippines material also reports GNSS Signal Monitoring System use and Manila FIR RFI reporting direction, making this a practical country-level issue rather than only a theoretical risk.

Boundary

This note does not quantify ASEAN interference rates or assert a country risk ranking. Those claims require incident datasets or regulator reports.
