SDCM

Scope

SDCM is the Russian System of Differential Corrections and Monitoring associated with the GLONASS augmentation ecosystem.

This note is deliberately conservative. It records only the source-routed identity and development-context signals currently available in the knowledge base. It is not a declaration that SDCM has current aviation Safety-of-Life operational status, published LPV/APV procedures, certified receiver use, or regulator-approved airport/runway procedures.

System identitySource - SDCMSDCM is a Russian / GLONASS-related augmentation system

Historical ICAO development contextICAO A37-WP/195SDCM was publicly described as a GLONASS SBAS development path in 2010
Public comparator statusFAA SBAS Worldwide factsheetSDCM can be treated conservatively as under-development in public comparator material unless newer official evidence is extracted

What can be said safely now

  • SDCM is connected to the Russian GLONASS augmentation source family.
  • Official GLONASS IAC / GLONASS OS PS material identifies SDCM as a GLONASS-based system certification context.
  • ICAO-public historical material described SDCM as an SBAS development effort intended to provide integrity, refined ephemeris-time information, corrected measurement data, and constellation health status.
  • Current operational aviation claims remain unverified in this KB.

What cannot be said yet

Do not use this page to claim:

  • current aviation service declaration;
  • operational LPV/APV availability;
  • Russian AIP procedure publication;
  • exact service volume, coverage, availability, continuity, integrity, or time-to-alert commitments;
  • aircraft/operator eligibility;
  • equivalence with WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS, GAGAN, BDSBAS, KASS, or SouthPAN;
  • support for ASEAN implementation decisions beyond a bounded comparator / research-target role.

Research status

SDCM is now represented in the vault as a source-routed system page and child source note. Its status is intentionally lower-confidence than systems with extracted service-definition or provider material such as WAAS, EGNOS, GAGAN, MSAS, BDSBAS, KASS, and SouthPAN.

This does not mean SDCM is unimportant. It means the current public evidence held by the KB is not yet sufficient for operational aviation claims.

Required next evidence before upgrading status

  1. Current official Russian SDCM service-definition or status document.
  2. Current Roscosmos / GLONASS IAC SDCM-specific service material.
  3. Russian aviation regulator / AIP / ANSP material for any procedure-level claim.
  4. Current official space-segment and monitoring-network status.
  5. Current ICAO or regional source material after the historical 2010 development signal.
