GIPTA 2.0

Definition status

GIPTA 2.0 is treated here as a program and implementation-learning layer for ASEAN GNSS/SBAS planning, not as an operational SBAS system.

Working definition

In the local GIPTA document stack, GIPTA 2.0 is presented as a JRANSA-implemented, JAIF-supported ASEAN GNSS/SBAS capacity-building sequence involving symposia, site workshops, GNSS data-analysis equipment, SBAS simulation, and implementation-roadmap discussion.

What this note adds without overlap

This note does not explain generic SBAS architecture. It captures the programmatic layer that connects ASEAN governance, testbed development, country participation, and implementation learning.

Current GIPTA evidence pattern

  • Dili, Timor-Leste hosted a GIPTA 2.0 GNSS Site Workshop for ASEAN on 14-15 April 2026.
  • GIPTA source material frames SBAS implementation as staged: training, guideline/feasibility work, GNSS environment analysis, testbed/simulation, and capacity building.
  • The documents repeatedly involve JRANSA, Japan/JAIF, ASEAN Secretariat or ASEAN transport context, ADB, and national aviation/geospatial stakeholders.
